Blackjack Nevada Deal: Face-Down-Card Play

Blackjack is a card game with many rule variations. Some casinos, for instance, do not allow double on split and early surrender. Some casinos have multiple split option while some casinos don't.

A casino may also have a different card dealing system than another casino. One known way of dealing cards is Blackjack Nevada Deal.

Blackjack Nevada Deal is a card dealing method whereby the dealer distributes the player's cards face down. Thereafter, the dealer deals his own cards with one card facing up and another facing down.

The player then makes his moves based on the dealer's known card, and on one's own pair of cards. If the player doesn't have a blackjack (an Ace and a ten-valued card), the player then aims to get a hand total of 21 or a total as much as close to 21. Can then opt to either ask for another card or not. If the player's card exceeds 21, the player busts and losses the game.

In blackjack lingo, asking for another card is known as hitting. The player indicates this through a signal. In Blackjack Nevada Deal, the player has to make a sweeping or brushing motion across the felt table with one's cards.

If the player is satisfied with his hands and does not wish to add another card, this is known as standing. In Blackjack Nevada Deal, the player indicates his intent to stand through a hand signal. The player must make a horizontal waving motion while mouthing the words "Stand" or "Stay."

When the player decides to stand, it means that his round is closed. The dealer then moves to the next player.

The dealer, on the other hand, bases his hit-or-stand options on one house rule: the dealer must keep hitting unless his hand reaches a total of 17 or higher.

When picking your face down cards in Blackjack Nevada Deal, the player has to take the cards with one hand only, never with two hands. Further, the player has to always keep the cards above the table where they can always be sighted. This is to keep the dealer from thinking that the player is making an attempt at cheating.

For a card counting player, knowing what type of play the house accommodates is important. A player can base his card counting strategies and decisions around the type of dealing method a casino has. When the player's cards are dealt face down while the dealer's hand has one card facing up and another down, this type of play is Blackjack Nevada Deal.
